It is the beggining of the year 2012.The girls of KGSA have just begun their studies. It was shocking for the girls to see the exams on the opening day. They have been told that this will be an exam that will determine wether they'll move to the next level or not.To some it is as usuall while others it's a disaster to them.I fail to understand if the teachers will have a humble time to mark the papers since the students are many in the school;but we wish them all the best in their exams and everything they do during the year.

none so blind can see,nor none so deaf can hear the words that am just about to say, that kgsa academy is the owesome school free of injustices, corruption and so many others that i may say.when we talk about empowerment, trust, peace and committment that is enough to define kgsa full of talented young girls.thats why i sum up by saying that not every flower is enough to present love for kgsa but roses may be fine just as the diamond to represent kgsa on map.
it has been a great first day at KGSA for this wonderful year 2012.

MENTALITY

I was only 14years old when I moved in to live with my parents with my younger siblings in Kibera. I am now turning 19 years and almost done with high school. I have noticed that girls around my community get married or drop out of school and do evil things or just try to compete with other girls to get that one certificate "pregnancy''. I won't deny the fact that I have 5 friends, 2 of whom are pregnant, 1 is married, 1 is loitering around with boys and the last one is convinced that she wants to do something with her life.

The reason for all this, if asked, is ''POVERTY'': will poverty be a stambling block for the girls?NO! Idon't agree at all. This is just a mentality girls have so they forget to think positively and utilise the better part of themselves. They tend to forget that they can make it in life, be the leaders that we want. This can be done, for example by emulating the women who have suceeded in life like Martha Karua, Carolyne Mutoko et cetera. I know and believe that girls can make it in life if they just get the mentorship.
